Talks & Events

Book Nathan Ellingham for your next event.

Talks and workshops on identity, resilience, personal responsibility and rebuilding your life with purpose.

For event organisers, retreat hosts, mastermind leaders and workplace teams looking to create honest conversations about change and personal growth.

I bring my own experience of divorce, losing my sense of identity and rebuilding my life into the subjects I speak about: understanding where you are, deciding who you want to become and taking the steps to close that gap.

Available for talks, interactive workshops and guest sessions within masterminds and retreats.

Speaking topics

Each subject can be delivered as a talk or developed into an interactive workshop. The emphasis is shaped around your audience, their circumstances and the purpose of your event.

01

Rebuilding after life changes

Finding direction when the future you expected disappears.

The end of a relationship, a career change or a significant setback can leave people questioning who they are and what happens next. Drawing on my own experience of rebuilding after divorce, this talk explores the loss of an expected future and the process of creating a new one.

It covers accepting where you are, recognising the choices still available to you and rebuilding trust in yourself through everyday actions.

Key themes and takeaways:

  • Understanding why major change can affect identity and confidence.
  • Recognising habits that keep you stuck in the chapter that’s ended.
  • Creating a personal picture of what moving forward could look like.
  • Choosing manageable next steps without needing every answer.

Suited to: Personal development events, retreats, communities navigating change and workplace wellbeing sessions.

02

Who am I beyond my roles?

Rediscovering yourself beyond work, relationships and responsibility.

Many people can describe what they do for everyone else more easily than they can describe what they want for themselves.

This talk explores what happens when identity becomes tied to being a partner, parent, provider or business owner. It invites people to examine the expectations they’ve absorbed and reconnect with their own values, interests and ambitions.

Key themes and takeaways:

  • Recognising where you’ve lost yourself in your responsibilities.
  • Questioning labels and expectations that no longer fit.
  • Identifying what matters to you at this stage of your life.
  • Making room for an identity that can grow as your circumstances change.

Suited to: Retreats, personal growth workshops, parent communities and business masterminds.

03

Own your side of the street

Personal responsibility, boundaries and choosing your response.

Waiting for another person to change can leave your life on hold.

This talk explores the difference between what has happened to you and what you can choose to do next. It looks at accountability without self-blame, boundaries without trying to control others and the everyday practice of responding more intentionally.

Key themes and takeaways:

  • Separating what you can influence from what you can’t control.
  • Taking an honest look at your own patterns and choices.
  • Understanding boundaries as decisions about your own actions.
  • Redirecting energy towards changes you can actually make.

Suited to: Personal development events, masterminds, retreats and groups exploring relationships or leadership.

04

Redefining success

Building a life you want to live, alongside the goals you want to achieve.

I know what it feels like to put business and achievement at the centre of your identity, then realise that other parts of your life have paid the price.

This talk examines the relationship between ambition, self-worth and external validation. It gives people space to question what they’re working towards, what it’s costing them and whether their definition of success still reflects their values.

Key themes and takeaways:

  • Recognising when achievement has become a measure of personal worth.
  • Reviewing the balance between ambition, health and relationships.
  • Defining success in terms that mean something to you.
  • Bringing everyday priorities closer to the life you say you want.

Suited to: Entrepreneur events, business masterminds, founder communities and retreats.

05

Becoming more present

How you show up for yourself and the people who matter.

You can be in the room and still be somewhere else entirely.

Drawing on my experience of fatherhood and personal change, this talk explores how stress, distraction and habits affect our relationships. It looks at the practical choices that help us listen, respond thoughtfully and give people more of our attention.

Key themes and takeaways:

  • Recognising the gap between being available and being present.
  • Noticing your reactions before acting on them.
  • Listening without immediately fixing, defending or dismissing.
  • Building everyday habits that support stronger connections.

Suited to: Parenting events, workplace wellbeing sessions, retreats and personal development communities.

How I can contribute to your event

Talks

A focused contribution built around one central subject, combining my personal story with ideas the audience can relate to their own lives.

We’ll agree the theme and key messages around your event, with the option to include audience questions.

Interactive workshops

A chance for participants to apply the subject to their own circumstances through guided reflection, practical exercises and discussion.

Workshops explore three core questions: where am I now, where do I want to be and what needs to change? Participants are invited to identify their own next steps, with sharing always optional.

Mastermind guest sessions

Sessions focused on the person behind the business.

Topics can include identity beyond achievement, personal responsibility, relationships, purpose and redefining success. These sessions create space for members to examine how the life they’re building connects with the person they want to become.

Retreat contributions

A guest talk or workshop that fits the intention of your retreat and complements the wider experience.

Themes such as identity, navigating change and finding direction give participants space to reflect on what they want to carry into life after the retreat. We’ll work together to make the session relevant to your group and its place in the schedule.

My approach: from where you are to who you want to become

My approach centres on the shift between two points: the life you’re experiencing now and the way you want to live.

In a group setting, everyone brings a different starting point. My role is to introduce questions, perspectives and exercises that help people explore their own direction.

  1. 01

    Understand where you are.

Take an honest look at your priorities, habits and the areas of life that need attention.

  2. 02

Get clear on what you want.

Explore how you want to feel, what matters to you and the person you want to become.

  3. 03

    Identify your next steps.

Connect that direction to practical choices, whether that’s a conversation, a boundary, a new habit or a change in priorities.

The aim is to give people something they can recognise in themselves and act on after the event.

Nathan Ellingham

About Nathan

I’m a life coach, business owner and father of two.

For years, I put a huge amount of my energy into building businesses and chasing success. When my marriage ended, I had to confront how much of my identity depended on my relationship and what I was achieving.

Rebuilding meant looking honestly at my own choices. It meant asking for support, changing my priorities and learning how to be more present for myself and my children.

That experience now informs the subjects I speak about.

Through my talks and workshops, I share the lessons of rebuilding my life, taking responsibility and finding a clearer sense of purpose. I help audiences reflect on who they are, what matters to them and the practical changes that can move them towards the life they want to live.
